Callum Reid is a second-year student at the University of West of Scotland (Paisley) studying Society, Politics and Social Policy. Born and brought up in Renfrew, the Cradle of the Royal Stewarts, he has been a supporter Scottish independence since 2014 after experiencing the positive vision for Scotland and all of our citizens the Yes Campaign had compared to the negative politics of the UK Government and the No Campaign. Callum joined the SNP in 2014 alongside thousands of Scots across the country and has since become a keen activist within the party, initially amongst his local branch and the Young Scots for Independence and now on a national level as National Communications Officer for the SNP Students.
Although Politics is his passion, Callum also enjoys creating digital content to promote the work of the party and the Independence Movement, being active in his local and doing what he can to help others succeed. He has held many roles within the party doing what he can to promote the positive vision the SNP has for Scotland these include, Branch Political Education Officer, Regional Convener of YSI West (March 2017 - December 2017), Branch Fundraiser (Oct 2016 - August 2017) and of course the National Communications Officer of the SNP Students.
